Artist's Comments

In December 2005 I was staying with friends in Roanoke, VA. Their apartment, while an extrodinarly friendly and supportive place, was also a little cramped... I found myself walking along the river freuqently, and found myself inspired to do some earth art. In a thaw between heavy snows, I erected this menhir. The main vertical stone is slate, aproximately 5 feet tall, and is supported with a stacking of smaller slate pieces. Unless locals have come along and knocked it down, it should still be standing there.

Great colours, really sharp.

Vanilla kisses that left a sickening taste,
Of whipped cream and New Years that was of course laced,
Cheap vodka and hormones that sweet residue,
Left me haunted and lonely and dreaming of you.

Thank you :) Digital cameras are the best thing ever. Otherwise I would have had no record of my fun altar building spree. Heh.
